What we’re looking for:
We’re currently accepting previously unpublished poems, flash fiction, and short stories up to 3,000 words in length.
We want writing that captures what it is to be human, but if you can show us a beluga whale’s Sunday afternoon, then we’d probably like that too. We’re particularly fond of magical realism, but our main focus is that a piece of work is able to stand on its own and make the reader feel something real.
We don’t like it when you use too many big words, and we aren’t interested in poems that focus on the craft of writing, or the writer.
Please submit up to six poems or three short stories in a single .doc or .rtf file attachment. Please insert your name and email address in the header of the document. In the body of the email, please include your name and the title of each piece you are submitting.
We accept simultaneous submissions but make sure you let us know immediately if your work is accepted somewhere else.
Please don’t send us audio files, or paste your work into the body of the email.
We will send you a response as soon as we can, but you can expect to hear from us within eight weeks. We wish we could pay you, but the best we can do is show you off. Please DO NOT include your bio, prior publications, or a link to your blog. We’ll get that information from you if we decide to publish you.
We claim the first time electronic publishing rights, and then the rights revert back to you. If your work appears elsewhere in the future please credit Bone Parade as the first site of publication.
Please direct all submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org
