THE BOTTOM / ROBERT S. KING

Beneath the ocean is land
that no one owns,
that is too deep for light

currents are breezes
and no lighthouse reaches
out its arms to the lost.

under pressure,
spineless creatures
have learned to make
their own light
in the darkness.
